I had this book thirty years ago. Recently I bought a copy from a marketplace seller and guess what? I appreciate it even more than I did thirty years ago. I have been looking for good English sentence structure/pattern book; there aren’t many. This is one of the best. To me, learning a foreign language should start from its syntactic structures, how sentences are built.
This book provides a rich collection of sentence patterns that learners can easily access to dispel any doubts about the legitimacy of particular construction and to appreciate the expressive power of the rich variety of English sentences. If your English isn’t so good and you want to improve then buy this one!
I’ve used an older edition of this book for 30 years. It is one of my top recommendations for ESL students. Clear information all condensed in one volume, not readily available in other books.An excellent book…….I had purchased this book second time but the latest printing the version 2024 is better than the previous Book. I recommend this book to read everyone
